I took both a 09 Road glide and a 09 Ultra Classic on a test ride last week. I put about 40 miles on each and took them on the same route. A little freeway and some curvy back roads. I feel that the Road Glide handled much better than the UC. It was a windy day and on my return trip I was hitting headwinds. The winds hardly affected the RG but made the UC feel unstable. I didn't like looking through the windshield on the UC. On the RG I was looking 3 or 4 inches above the windshield. I am biased. I currently have a 06 Road glide and am used to it. My main complaint with the RG was that I had to stretch to reach the handlebars. I somewhat corrected this on my current RG by putting on Wide Glide bars. I was really hoping I would like the Ultra better. I do like the extra bells and whistles. But I’m going to stick with the red headed step child. IMHO the RG is the best value that Harley makes.
Harley says its their best long distance bike but they do not give you a trunk or lowers? thats no deal man. At least with the EGC you get a trunk, it seems a better deal to me, just my 2 cents though.
Personally, I like to see ahead of me when I ride at night on curves. I Like the lights following the steering. My opinion, that is why they make different models to please various people. Which ever you choose, good luck
with counter-steer being what it is,,,,,, u like looking where you're not going????

UUUhhh.... If your front tire is turned in a curve your probably driving a little faster than idle where the the headlight won't make much difference, otherwise your actually countersteering into the curve where the headlight (un-noticeably) will be pointed in the wrong direction... Think about it...
