Default Condensation in Gauges ?

Lately I have been getting condensation in my voltmeter gauge on my 08 SG. Went to the dealer and they said it is a common problem with some getting it in 2 gauges. I asked them to fix it under my warranty and they claim the MOCO will not cover it since the gauge is not broke.....it still works. I told them that is BS and I want it fixed. They said they can replace the gauge but it will be with my nickle, they already went thru the issue with MOCO several times and they claim they made it very clear that they will not cover it. Anyone else have the same problem and the dealer would not fix it ?

Park it in the sun, it'll go away. Condensation can also occur in stereo display and LCD dipstick.

You can replace it on your "nickel", but I would almost bet that the new one fogs up at some time....seems like they all do. All four of mine do (gas, temp, amp, oil) and fogging goes aways after about ten minutes riding.
If your want to do something with your nickel.......find the company that makes digital gages and put those in.

I'm not sure it is totally condensation. I had to replace my oil temp, received a new one and promptly put a nick in the face (plastic, not glass). So I started to rub out the nick. I did get it smoothed out. But as I was rubbing it out I noticed a "film" and thought I ras rubbing this off. After a few moments I realized that this was on the underside. And after closer observation I noticed this same film on my other gauges. And when the temperature changes this is the area that appears or looks as to be condensation. I also know that the gauges are not sealed. Hope this helps.

Imported.

One word explains it all.

American Made with IMPORTED Chinese parts.

Also says something about the so called "Warranty".
How much did you say you paid for that bike? *smirk

What does it say about the warranty? That they refuse to pay to replace millions of gauges that still work but have a little condensation. Most Harley owners are way too **** about their bike. Theres nothing wrong with that but don't expect someone else to pay to keep it pretty for you.

Mine do it too but i just don't care.
