I don't use the cb, just the radio. What would be the reasoning in cutting from the bottom instead of cutting off the top other than you keep the tips on ? My tips were missing anyway so I just made some . Thanks
You may not use the CB, but the next guy may want to if you trade it off, or sell it. And the time may come when you decide to use it yourself, so think about it before cutting that one off.
Chopping off the antennas is somebody's idea of a mod, you guys are torturing me.
Well, "mod" or not, with the HD shorties on there, at least it doesn't, as another guy said in a similar thread about this, "look like some kid's radio control toy anymore". I think that about sums it up. Much cleaner look. I did it and I like it. YMMV.
I didnt cut my antenna on my bike (installed a antenna under the fairing) but i did cut the antenna on my truck so it would be the same hieght as the roof and it has worked fine for years.
