Default Has anyone traded their '08 RKC for an '09 RKC?

I've been thinking about trading my '08 RKC w/ABS and Security for an '09 in another color that I prefer with the same options. I love my bike in Pacific Blue, but I think I like the Turquoise better.

Does anyone have a sense of what trade-in value would be?

I would pick the Blue personally and you would have money in your wallet still. Pac Blue one of my faves and I have a black bike.

why not just buy a new set of tins and have them painted the color of your choice? Seems a lot cheaper than buying a brand new bike to replace a brand new bike. I also like the turquoise color, and thats what I'm thinking of doing. When you want a different look, it only takes a few hours to change them out.

I had a 08 Anniversary Model for about 6 weeks. I experienced the dreaded fuel filter shell failure about 150 miles from anywhere in the desert heat. I was very upset and concluded I would never enjoy the bike so traded it for a 09 RK. The transaction cost me about $5500.

The 09 is teal and cream and I am very pleased.

Another huge waste of money, this would be. You have a very nice bike, but have "grass is always greener" envy. Shoulda bought black, it's the nastiest and the fastest...........

I have a feeling you'll pay somewhere in the neighborhood of what was listed above. Personally I would also just buy tins unless I had other good reasons for disliking the '08.

I like the thought of switching out the tins; however, I'm a little concerned about what's involved with the swap. For those of you who have purchased replacement tins, what can I expect to pay? If it's anywhere close to what I'd lose on trading the bike, I'd probably move to the '09.

Also, would it cost more to paint my current tin than to pick-up a second set is the new color?

I think black is the fastest color.

My brother took off his tins, bought hard bags for his RK Custom and had them all custom painted and also had ghost flames done. Beautiful paint scheme and he paid a couple grand. Looks like a brand new and completely different bike. Unless you have and endless supply of money and don't mind wasting it, that would be a huge mistake to trade in. Like someone said,
