Default Fuel injector cleaner

Does anyone run Fuel Injector Cleaner through their fuel system occasionally?? I do this in my Chevy Truck about every 5-6k miles and it seems to help but I was wondering if this would be beneficial or detrimental to do on my scooter?? Any thoughts?

I don't. My bike has 73k. My oldest cage FI engine is a '87 and the one with the most miles has 153k. They all run just fine. FI is hardly a new thing. Gasoline has all the detergent needed in it already.

I do, Every 10k mile I run a full tank with FI cleaner through it. And if you use the new Stabil for winter storage it has FI cleaner in it already.

Todays fuels already have a cleaner in them. Your throwing your cash away. But if it gives you peace of mind do it.

I know, working for GM,that GM does not like any injector cleaner run through their Delphi injectors but we have not had any problems with the vehicles that we ran cleaner in.

I put a shot of Nichol's fuel additive in every couple of tanks , works wonders.

I've used a small amount of the lucas fuel injector cleaner in the winter months when I ride here in NC. I've noticed a difference and it's more of preventative maintenance and my dealer mech uses it occasionally too. It's really nice to be riding pretty much year round here compared to back in Plattsburgh NY area.

This topic has been discussed several times, if your gas station is not a "Tier-1" gas supplier, they DO NOT put in the additives needed to keep fuel systems clean and running right....do a google search on Tier-1 gas and you will see the few brands that are in that class. There are very few Tier-1 stations around my area, so I put in the appropriate amount of Techron a couple times a year, in my bikes and my cars.

As I rarely fuel at a tier 1 station , I occasionally use Techron as a preventive measure and to winterize/stabilize my fuel I add Seafoam.
