I sit up pretty straight too. Sore back if I don't.

I have the Half Moon windshields from http://www.customflhtwindshields.net/
I use the 12" for day trips riding. They make it a lot easier to hear the radio.

I can look over the 12" no problem.
The 14" one I have, I have to look though it.

I have a 10" a 12" and a 14"
But you will need to buy the "Mar-resistant" ones. Shipped they are $80.

I had a 11" Flat Top to start with, but I didn't like the looks of it, in that tall of a shield.
It did work great on wind buffering though.

10" Dark Tint:

Do you haul a passenger? How does the 10" shield do with them? Also, do you get any turbulence with the 10" as compared to the 12"? Thanks.

+1 on customflhtwindshields, these people are the real deal. I have the 11" halfmoon and its great.
The one you are looking at on Ebay may be a knock off.

The rule of thumb I have always worked to is that the top of the screen should be around nose height. That way you can normally look over the top, to get a good view, or duck a little to look through it for more comfort.

For the larger rider a wide screen should give better comfort from the slipstream.

You might recall the Custom models BMW made for a while, with a twin-light fairing? When I fitted a new screen to my Glide I copied that style:

https://www.hdforums.com/forum/membe...rn-lights.html

The level part is about nose height and the 'wings' improve airflow around my helmet, also my wife's on the back, over the previous standard screen. My batwing is the old FLH style and I bought the largest screen available to modify.
