after reading all the reviews about ARC audio fallowed by many Internet searches looking for the best system for me. then talking with Wayne [firecap501] through e-mail and phone calls. we put together a super system.
also big thanks to PEZ of hog tunes, nice guy and first class product.
I went with the arc KS 125.2 mini amp. and 4 of the arc FD5025 coaxial speakers. I also got in my kit the hi/low converter ,and the sound deading material and power & ground wires.
from PEZ i was able to buy just the lower faring speaker adaptors. a very good product.
i put poly fill in the pods to help with sound.
the install was easy other than running a power line to the amp. that was a pain in the azz. after must looking for a good place and not wanting to remove the tank i found a spot, i lifted the back of the tank and fished a thin wire through the plastic wire holder on the clutch side of the tank back to the under the seat. it worked out good no binding on the wire.
as far as the rest of the install the instructions are good. and Wayne is always there with the answer to the ??
now every time i go somewhere people will notice something different about the bike, the speaker pods. then they ask to hear it. they always have the same response. WOW what is it and how? some say thats louder and sounds better than my home system.
the only caution i say is to cover the front finder, i did not and during the mock up of the amp install the amp fell onto the finder and dented it. that costed me 50$ to get it removed.
i also installed the garage door opener to work off the hi beam at the same time. much essayer than looking for the remote.
on the amp there was a badge that said are i removed it to fit the cb on top of it and i stuck it to the back of the tour pack. i like it there.
one guy asked it that was harleys advanced audio system. lol
Thanks for the pics. Gives me an idea of what I have in store for my install. I am not putting the lower speakers in just yet. I am only going with the two in the fairing for now, will see how it sounds and go from there.
on the brake side of the stering neck near the botom, there is a bolt that holds 2 cables. i removed it and used a eyelet there under the cable holder. the frame has no paint there.
