Default Rider backrest

Have a 09 Ultra Classic and looking for a rider backrest but do not want to spend my life savings on one. Does anyone know where I can find a removable one where it could be removed when a passenger jumps on? I realy don't know if one exists. Any input would be appericated.

Have you looked at the adjustable rider backrest from HD. You'll hear from others that this is just the ticket. Easily lifts out and has a lever mounted behind the left heat engine guard so it can be adjusted forward or backwards, even while riding if you desire. Love mine.

HD offers a standard one and, as mentioned, an adjustable one. You'll probably find that the standard one pushes you too far forward. Easy to fix by bending the bars a little. I can't remember for sure but I think it's around $150.00. Well worth it, mine rarely comes off.

Check on e-Bay.
Just make sure it fits an '09 & includes the mounting bracket.

I looked around for a long time trying to get the right one and went with the HD adjustable one you can lean it forward so that the passenger can get on without having to swing their legs over and just squeeze the two bars together to remove. Best one I have found for the money

Yep, HD rest is the one to have. Besides that life savings was meant for just such things.

The Mustang is the better unit.....its about $180.00 and the way its ajustable its like lumbar support. I looked at all teh HD stuff and found it wanting to say the least. PLUS the Mustang is made in the USA!!

Guys with the 09 HD adjustable backrest, can you tell me how thick your pad is. I have my old backrest on off of my 06 ultra which does not offer my wife any comfort. I understand the new 09 pads are designed thinner and narrower, Is this true?
