Any recommendations on camp ground at Sturgis this year? what can I expect to pay? I can't go the $2000 and up for a cabin, so will have to get down in the dirt one more time. Any help appreciated.
I stayed at Hog Heaven '02-07. I think it's $30/person/night now, but you're like 8 minutes from Main Street, it's relatively quiet, clean, food, beer, music, nice bathrooms, etc. I'm planning on being there this year. I've seen *******. I want sleep.
I stayed at Lamphere Ranch Campground just a few mins outside of sturgis, and next door to Glencoe. It's a laid back not to big of a place. For the most part it is a quieter place with a fair amount of trees. They are across the street from full throttle saloon and offer shuttles from the full throttle and another one into town. Cheap enought rates, a store, and on site food. http://www.lamphereranch.com/
You'll have no trouble findin' places to camp. I think it makes the whole experience. But you better shower late at night, or in the middle of the afternoon if you want any hot water.... That's the only PITA....
We have stayed for years at exit 37, just east of Sturgis on I90, at RushNoMore.
It is set back from I90 on the back side of a hill, so you are buffered from the noise. Showers/bathrooms are private, with a hot water heater in every unit.
Nicest place we've ever stayed at.
No *******, food on the ground, 7 miles from Sturgis, about 1/4 mile of gravel.
