engine upgrades this winter.
Maybe I'm just jumping the gun but last winter there was thread after thread after thread about engine upgrades beyond pipes and an air cleaner.
I am having a set of 500 HQ cams put in and a fresh dyno tune done next week for my RK.
Handlebars, seats, air cleaner, and exhaust threads get a little boring to read over and over again.
I love reading about the 103-107 kits people are doing and what there end results are or even the people that are trying to get as much out of a 96" as they can.
I was going to go with the sport touring 107" kit this winter, but things are tough at my job, there have been some layoffs. So, I am putting some money away, and just going with the 30T sprocket instead.
My 124" motor was pulled down last fall and is currently apart for freshening where in a week or so, it's going out to a machine shop where the crank will be checked, balanced and then welded. On top of that will be the installation of 12:1 pistons, machining of the Axtell jugs and some more work on the R&R stage V heads. Some 700" cams will also be examined and details of an HPI workover of the FBW T/B are being looked into. Chasing 150+ HP/TQ from this build and when all is said and done, it's going into an 09 FLHX. Should be a scream to ride come summer.

Geeze, and I was thinking about trying to tweek my stock slip-ons just a bit. maybe I'm just not thinking big enough.
Just had my 88" bored to 98" last month.I got 94 horses and 110 lb tq.Head work and S&S 510 cams with 9.7-1 comprision.Winter! It never get cold in Texas, just cools down at night.32dg this morning and 72 this afternoon.
I can't afford to pay attention, let alone do an engine job this winter
It seems that quite a few are being a bit more careful with their funds, although there are some still hellbent on making it faster, torquier, responsive, etc. I am in the middle of the DD7 install and waiting for a simple hose of all things that is holding me up. ALso have the throttle body off, pulling the rocker boxes to inspect for wear (TP boxes, the steel rockers ride up against the aluminum so just checking clearances), hydraulic clutch install and SE compensator. I think that is enough for one winter!
