Default Need help with inner primary ?

Sorry it's long..but you need to know the story

I got a flat on the rear wheel back in September while on a 3000 mile trip, Of course this happens in the middle of no where and the INDY shop that repaired the tire, tightened the rear wheel too tight causing me all kinds of problems.

I got a leak in the main seal where the tranny shaft comes into the primary and the hub on the clutch got messed up. Anyways, I took the bike to a local shop to have the leak fixed and decided that I would have the inner primary chromed since the entire thing was apart.

What turned out to be a 1 day job has turned into a nightmare. They had the chrome exchange primary there when I took the bike in and when the mechanic pressed the bearing in place he broke the primary. He calls me and tells me the bad news, and that he should have another primary in a couple of days. He calls me back in a 5 days and has more bad news, the primary is the wrong one. He sends my original out to get chromed and calls me back 5 days later and tells me, the primary came back with a f*&^%* up chrome job, it was pitted.

So I wait another 5-6 days and get a call today that the new primary is the wrong one. Yes this 1 day has turned into 3 1/2 weeks of frustration. And now for the bad news, he can't find another primary and is going to put on the messed up chrome one on the bike. Finally some good news, he tells me he is only going to charge me for the gaskets, seals and oil because of the problems. No labor.

So I have been looking everywhere for a used primary but can't find one for my bike. 1999 FLHRCI. I know this is the first year of the TC88, but I can't find anything on the internet that has a primary for my bike, used, new and a search finds nothing. I have found one which is cast #60677-94(which is not the HD part #, figured this out through research) which says it's good for FL from 94-98. And I found many with cast #60677-01B which states is good for FL from 01 to 07. I can't find anything with one, that you assume (I know) would be cast#60677-99.

Does anyone know where I can find this primary? Or will the 94 work, I have been pullling my hair out trying to get to the bottom of this.

If anyone has one please let me know.....please help!!!!!!

Default Inner Primary

The part number you need is 60432-94 Black and 60661-94A Silver the casting numbers on the in side our not what you want to go by 94 through 2000 will fit those are the part number to look for The 94 to 2000 don't chrome well the metal that was use has porisity in it and will aways show some pitting. I've had three of them chromed to try to get away from it but all of them have it to some not as bad.

Thanks Dcrane,

I knew that the casting number wasn't what I needed, but now I have a part number so that I can start looking around.

Bagman,

I am not sure who did the chrome, I went to a Local Indy that does chrome exchange, I am not sure where they send them out to get done. Also, I was under the same impression as far as the universal fitting of the primary, but in 01 I think HD changed the bolt pattern a little where the primary bolts to the tranny, at least this is the best I can tell by word of mouth and looking at pictures.
