I have a HJC Symax and the speakers fit well into the ear area. the mic is run under the pads and then behind the chin bar. it's really to close to my mouth with the windsock in place, so i had to remove the windsock. The wind noise doesn't seem to be a problem fortunately. I have the J&M set and it has a clamp on the left side.
Thanks, I have come to the conclusion that there is just no way the mic is going to fit on the one I have. There is not enough clearance between my face and the inside of the helmet. So will try and find a headset with speakers only , so at least I can hear the radio.

I have the J&M head set, and a modular helmet. I sliced the bottom of the "neck curtain" to mount the clamp. I removed the left cheek pad, and ran the boom mic between the pad and the shell. the mic actually sits towards my nose when the helmet is closed, but as it IS closed, there's no problem hearing me.
There's enough play in the boom, so I can brings to my mouth when the helmet is open.

I installed J&M speakers in my HJC symax II modular. I had to cut out the styrofoam and insert the speakers into the hole. I used a tonque depresser to work the wire's around the rim of the helmet.
I tried it w/o doing that and it was like icepicks in my ears.
I used a disposable scapel to cut the strofoam but an exacto knife would probably work. Since my ears fell just above the buckle mounting, the holes for the speakers extend into that area. More of a semi circle if you will. I sized the holes so the speaker fit tightly and used some hot glue to around them for added security and sound insulation.
