I personally don't like being tethered to the bike in any way. I bought ipod landyard earphones Here that worked ok. Still had a little problem with them on my dyna without the windshield, the wind would blow the ear plugs out of my ears, but that can happen with any earplugs
I have a handle bar mount. It is awsome. You can change songs and see what is playing. Only downside is, if it starts to rain, you need to put it in a dry place. I purchased it from a fellow member. I don't have the link.
If you have a hard drive iPod do not mount it to the bike. Keep it in your pocket or the windshield pouch. The vibrations from a motorcycle will lock up the hard drive. DAMHIK. You can mount a flash drive iPod without any problems. As far as ear phones, go to Best Buy and get some Skullcandy Inked Smokin Buds. They are in ear earbuds and will help block out wind noise and they won't come out of your ears. They only cost about 20 bucks and sound great.
I just installed one on my RKC bars, it is called E Caddy Lite, it is chromed and works great, I was running a hard drive Ipod in my pouch, not a good thing, kept locking up. running a Nano now, works great. here is the site for the E Caddy, ordered on Sunday
and it showed up today US Postal.

That's an interesting system I've not seen before. Allowing you to put different devices on it, as long as a belt clip is on the device, or on a case/holster for the device, and offers a bag to put it in w/ a clip for bad weather. That's pretty slick.
This one can bolt to the screws of your existing hand controls, putting the device closer to the grips, as another option.
I've seen some of the other items that look pretty cool too, but one thing I like about this one, is when the device and chrome hook are removed, you're left w/ just a band of chrome, not a large plate where the ipod or whatever would have been, so the look is cleaner to me when the electronics are not on the bike.
Works FANTASTIC. Put one on the4 wifes bike last summer. Rode 3400 miles in 11 days and not one problem. She listened to tunes all the way.
