I also just purchased an e caddy light and it is now for sale.I have an 08 flhx and it just doesnt work with stock bars.Because of the brake res. on the throttle side your only option is the clutch side of the bars. The bend of these bars is so close to the controls that you must mount it tight to the controls to look right. The base of the e caddy is so thick that mounting it tight to the controls causes extreme preasure on the controls wireing. After mounting it and looking at the kink in the wires I took it back off.Because the street glide has no mirrors on the controls I saw how nicely the mp3 would work with a simple piece of velcro mounted dirrectly to the mirror base on top of the clutch lever. The nice thing about mounting it in this spot is using the clutch cable to piggyback the aux. wire dirrectly into the fairing and out the other side of the bars.Made for a nice clean look and I dont need to fiddle with the wire everytime I install the mp3.

Did you have the one thats a handlebar mount? I was looking at the one that uses the existing clamp for the brake res. It just uses the 2 bolts. As a matter of fact I was thinking of getting one for each side. So I can have the cup on one side and the Ipod on the other.

This is the one I went with.It creates a near 90 degree pinch on the wires.

Crap..gotta work on the picture thing.I bought the one with the cell phone pictured hanging on it.

This is what I ended up doing.

I have the cyclesounds system and it works great. I bought a protective case for my Ipod and attached the velcro the the case. Sounds great and I can just pull the Ipod off the bike when I go in a store or bar.
