Question 11" vs. 14"!!!

windshields people... what'd you think it was going to be about? I have the 11" shield that comes stock on the Screaming Eagles, keeps the air pressure off of my chest and is fine up to about 55 mph. After that it starts to rattle my goggles, the foam lined sun glasses, not the strap on ones. If i had the strap one goggles this probably wouldnt happen, dont know yet. I found a 14" replacement shield and was wondering if anyone here has one or had had one and can give me an opinion on the 14" shield. Is it worth upgrading, or is it more of the same?

EDIT: Maybe I should also state this is the quick detach, non fairing sheild. 11" above the headlight, vr. 14" above the headlight...

I went the opposite direction. I went with a 9 1/2" Recurve. Keeps the wind off for the most part and I can look over. I don't care for looking thru the WS.

Stock here 12 1/2" works great. no buffeting here unless I i go over 85+ to pass someone. Otherwise works great. I will probably get a 14" when it needs replacement. I keep mine "waxed/rain-exed and the water beads up and rolls over it and the "vacuum" area kinda spits it on your face sometimes...
Couple of us rented bikes in Tahoo area and I tried a street glide with a small one "NO way" i would have it

But normal riding stock works great

I have a Memphis Shades on my 04 RK that comes to just about my chin or mouth in height -I believe it is their 12" model. I get no buffeting. For me this is the idea height as I don't like looking through the windshield.

I always try to go with something that puts the top of the shield just below eye level. That way, I don't have to look through it but still get most of the wind deflected. That's always worked pretty well for me.
