Default Se 113

I have a 2008 FLHX that I just did an SE 113 install. All the parts changed are in the SE catalog under the 113 kit. I now have just over 500 miles on the new upgrade. I'm told that I can't put the bike on the dyno for a proper tune untill I get 1,000 miles on the bike. I'm useing the SERT to program the ECU and found that there is no map for my set up. With the map that has been installed the runs well but is not right. Does anyone have or know of a map for that set up.
Pistons and cyclenders listed in the SE catolog for 113 kit. MVA heads, SE260 cams, 58mm throtle body, screamin eagle heavy breather, and V&H true duels.

I suggest you ride it until it has 1,000 miles up and get it dyno-ed! That will ensure it is on the button. It will only take two days to do 500 miles and you're done.

When I did my SE 103 and installed an SEST I also had to wait for a while to tune it. During that time I ran around with a decent map that at least let me enjoy the ride.

Just be patient knowing you're going to be waking that monster up soon enough...and wait.

Just be sure to let us know the out come when you get that 113 in a booth...

500 miles is enough to get it dynoed. There's no magic number to the break in. I done mine with a little less than 500 and it was not a problem. If you have 500 on it make an appointment and ride it till your app. date and it will be fine.

Ramrod...as other have said...ride the bike, put the 1,000 miles on it so that the engine is broken in sufficently to seat the rings, etc.

Once you hit 1,000 miles, the dyno tune will make you appreciate the pain & suffering (both while the 113 kit was being installed and you could not ride, and the 1,000 miles of base ECU map riding).

I'm doing a 103 Stage III on my new bike and will be putting 1000 miles on my bike within 2 days, maybe 3 max...so that I can get the dyno tune done ASAP.

A buddy of mine wants to do a road trip a week after I pick the bike up (Denver to Las Vegas by whatever route is safe to ride in early April).

this is correct, many bikes are broke in on the dyno -- no magic number

I'm working on the 1,000 miles. The only problem is I live up in the north west and the weather has not been all the good. I did the 500 in the dry but 26 to 30 degree temps. Its now in the 32 to 42 degree range but rainning. My plane allways been to do a proper tune on a dyno after break in. That basic map is real fat and fouls plugs and will not respond with anything over half throtle. Thanks for the quick reply.

The reason it doesn't seem right is that they put a basic map in thats a little rich during the break in. It doesn't matter that they don't have a map for it, when it's time to dyno it with the SERT they will or should be giving you a custom map. Expect 2-3 hrs of dyno time for the custom map.
