Let's raise tax's and bust the biker's ***** with some new laws---- that will help the economy.....

Let Those Who Ride !! Decide.

I tend to agree, but the time will come that we will have to put either OEM exhausts or aftermarkets that are as quiet as OEM back onto our rides. There are the ignorant few among riders that think it is all too funny to blast through "Small Town America" with their straight pipes a blaring while the John Q Public's that drive their Ecco friendly vehicles are eating their sushi rolls on the outdoor patios. Then John Q complains to their senator about the loud and rowdy bikers that scare their poor child with their loud bikes and BAM, new noise ordinances. We shouldn't be surprised, it';s been in the works for years now, one day, the pipes will have to go, just like my dad's glass-packs on his old 'Cuda did in the 70's.

Unfortunatly all too true... We are our own worst enemy when it comes to laws for bikes. we created the monster, and let it out of the box...now there is no putting it back, unless we do it ourselves. We have far too many that believe that freedom means only for THEMSELVES..Sorry, it means for ALL Americans, and that means we must respect differing points of views, even when we don't agree with them.

Wife has loud pipes on her ride...no one complains, because she won't crack them untill she is away from people and homes.

Sensible riding is the only thing that will put this cat back in the bag...

The biggest problem is with Straight Pipes.
Everything else is tolerated fairly well by the public.
We need to police ourselves or they will pass more restrcitive laws and spoil all our fun.

I can see going after straight pipes, but why pipes that pass the current db level. They need to start enforceing the laws they already have of going through yield signs, stop signs, stop lights, and pulling out of driveways, and all the other stupid crap that "John Q Public" does. We are easy pickens. Hampton cops didn't even want to be bothered going after the ahole that put me in intensive care this spring and drove off. We don't need more laws just bring back common sense.

Connecticut has had a law like this for a long time. The only time you get harrassed is when you start bringing attention to yourself, hell the state police bikes here have slip-ons. I've seen more sportbikes get nabed for this than any car or cruiser. Strait pipes, sure they will get you, but rideing normal with baffles, they don't bother.

I don't think the bill would pass in its current form.

Don't count on it, it's happening all over and soon enough the Feds will get involed and mandate that exhaust must either be OEM or licensed aftermarket exhausts that meet DOT standards for noise. It already IS on the books as law, all aftermarkey systems will come with a disclaimer to protect them, like "For Off-Road use ONLY" or "For track use only"
