its winter here, and im bored.. would the Saddle Gaurd kits look good on a SG ? I want to protect my saddle bags in case bike tips and also stop the leg rubbing of the passanger against the bags to prevent wear of the paint...
Any suggestions ? its pretty pricey here in Canada for the kit..
The rails look good if you like them. Kinda the whole opinons are like.....
There are several for sale in the new TOURING section of this site. One guy has them for pretty reasonably priced. I will forward you my PM when I was considering them.

I agree with you. It's a good idea and may save you lots of $$$ if that bike ever tips over, etc. I didn't even pick up the bike from the dealer til they had that saddlebag guard kit installed. And yes it also looks good on the bike IMHO.
Put them on my Road King and loved them, a fellow rider with a CVO was cleaning his bags and did not put the locks back right and one cam off during a ride and slid about 100 yards before stopping if he would of had the guards on his they would have held it on, he has them now. I recommend them
Try these, part number 49087-01. You will also need the saddle bag supports; take a look at the black supports. You don’t see them under the bags and you don’t have to worry about the chrome going bad.
The guards themselves will protect your bags if the bike tips over and this style is more comfortable for your passenger, less expensive to buy and they look a lot cleaner than the ones with the rails.
The "Comfort Style" guards fit the bill. The guards with the two rails wrapping around the bags (Ultra and Classic EG's) are my least favorite for the SG. I've thought about guards, and thinking about them more since I'm painting the bike. If I do it, it will be the Comfort Style.
