"Snowbirds" are a necessary evil around here. Stimulates the local economy. They drive too slow, I ride very cautiously when they're here and they cause long waits at all the restaurants. But for us, its only from Jan to April.

Maybe, but I missed the days when folks didn't think the Florida southern accent sounded the same as a the New Jersey Accent.
I blame the climate issues on Al Gore. Things used to be as they should, hot summers everywhere, cold winters in the North. Then he started shouting his mouth off and look at what we have now....

My g/f and I just got back. We took an early evening ride and put about 60 miles on. It was about 40 when we left, about 35 when we got back. That's about as cold as I want to ride in. I wore my full face helmet which makes a tremendous difference.
Forecast is now for sunny and highs in the low 70's this weekend. Of course, I have to work all weekend.
But better believe I'll be in the water come monday.

I have a good friend whose sister and her husband live in Wisconsin and visit here in South Alabama about 3 times a year. One night at a party she asked me, why do southeners like to talk about the Civil War so much, that you would think they wouldn't want to talk about a war they lost and without a seconds hesitation I told her "Lost Hell, It ain't over yet". She laughed so hard she had to sit down. She brings it up every time she visits. Oh and by the way she and her husband have now bought a house here and will be moving here in one more year when he retires.
