promises were made...expectations created
No doubt this thread will generate a some dissention, but here goes.........a long time ago my family decided to forego the higher wages prevalent to northern and western states in exchange for the far more tempo rant climate in Florida. In the course of some 40+ years while residing in Hurricane tormented Florida we have had some ups and downs, but all said, the desire to enjoy a tempo rant climate overrode the desire for higher wages and benefits.
Fast forward to February 2009. Despite global warming northeast Florida has already had more freezing nights so far this year than during the five previous winters. Over the next three or four days, lows will be in the 20's with 20 being the forecasted low for Thursday morning. Surely not the end of the world for those of you who chose to reside in the frozen north and enjoy significantly increased earnings, I for one who made a rational decision to forego such wealth in exchange for a tempo rant climate have been ripped off. Not only is Florida’s unemployment rate one of the highest in the nation, we are now freezing our ***** off.
I say, “keep your damn welfare, pork barrel stimulus package and just turn the damn heat back on!”

Eh, I'm 2 hours from the FL state line. Yeah, its going to be cold for a couple of days, but they're forecasting upper 60's by the weekend again. That sounds pretty tempo rant to me.
