Default Rear shock question

What's up all. Took a trip to Key West last weekend and on the way home noticed the left rear shock had leaked oil out of the air valve. What's up with that, the bike is brand new, 900 miles. It's obviously still under warranty, so I am not that concerned, just wondering is all. Also, I want to change the rear shocks to the low profile version, as I am vertically challenged. Anybody have any thoughts on this, I have found the Harley version for $230 on the web and a chrome pair that replaces OEM FLHX/FLHRS shocks for $170, any thoughts?? Thanks all.

If the fitting leaks and the air comes out, the shock oil will soon follow. I sent my stock shocks out and had them cut down and they ride great for me. Check out Bitchen Baggers for more info.

Sounds like your 08 may still be in initial warranty. Why dont you get the dealer to do a waranty claim and pay the difference in profile shock change. The labor should be under warranty.

Besides the shocks there are some lower profile seats available, I believe there is a post about one from FBI that lowers your body 3 inches

I lowered my Ultra 1" by going to a 12" vs. the stock 13". Purchased air shocks on Ebay made by Ultima for I think about $140 from American Classics. Work great with no problems to report @ 5,000 miles.
