You can go there "ready to drive away tonight", Lay your final price down and tell them to talk it over and let you know.

If they suck, go to another dealer.
+1 here! It's a buyers market! Make them want to sell it and don't accept the delivery and set up charge! That same bike in the local dealer was 19000 out the door! Your Dealer can do better!

I'll admit I haven't priced a new Roadie since I bought my '07, but man they seem expensive. I bought mine new in May 2007 for $17,855 (Black with security) out the door with 20% off any accessories and free labor to install them if I wanted.

Default Now I remember!

Thank you, I finally got it. Now I remember why I don't come here much. That's too bad because I have talked with some really great people on here. They have even helped with some problems on my bike and I really appreciated their experience and input.
You win!

HD have amazing marketing and will always sell their bikes and gear for a premium. It does have to do with Supply/demand, and they control it. They don't overproduce on purpose. They just had a large layoff...Why?...Because it will slow production and keep demand up in this slow economy..They control it...we are the Sheep.

I got a $20K quote from my dealer for a vivid black RG with ABS and security.
