Default new Electra glide pricing

Since this will be my first HD, are the dealerships negotiable on the MSRP pricing? Should I look at dealers around and even out of state? I dont care if I have to go a few hundred miles to save some bucks and get what I want at a decent price.

others experiences????

Not much, I traded a superglide in on a 2011 RKC and did get them to knock off $500 from the price after the trade. I also got $1000 debit card for the parts dept. on top of all of it. Go when it's cold and at the end of the month.

Timing and weather can be helpful elements. If you spend time looking and working with several dealers simultaneously, you can get a sense of when s good time might be on a particular model of interest.

For me, my last two HDs were dealer purchases and I was very satisfied. I had shopped diligently for the first one for over a year and a half in three states through which I travel frequently. A dealer in a different town over 140 miles away called me one day and said I think I have what you want at the price point you want -- still spent over 2 hours negotiating, went all the way to the GM and when he wouldn't budge a few hundred to what I wanted "out-the-door", I thanked them graciously and walked out. I called my girl as I left and she asked what the differential was -- when I told her, she told me to go right back there, buy it and forget the few bucks. I was happy with it for the next three years or so.... until, but that's another tale....

Bottom line: I found each of the dealers with which I worked to be negotiable; and willing to 'sweeten the pot' as stated above.

Default you could....

Know what you what - year, color ect -
EX - 2012 Street Glide - Security, Cruise and ABS - color = Big Blue Pearl
Know the price from the Harley web site:

Vivid Black$ 19,499
Color Option$ 19,994
Two-Tone Option N/A
Custom Color Option$ 20,499
Wheel Option$ 460
Security Option Only offered as part of Security Package
ABS Option Only offered as part Security Package
Security Package (Security and ABS)$ 1,195
Cruise Control Option$ 295
California Emissions$ 200
THEN
Ask all the dealers you can to give you their best price, tell them that you are going to buy and the best price wins, and then go from there.
While at the dealers you might ask some of the riders if they got HD below MSRP and what dealer they got it from.
Just my suggestion.

Bought my 2011 Streetglide in September '10 for $2000 off MSRP. Totaled it in June (thanks to white tail deer who decided it wanted to jump on for a ride) and bought a left-over 2011 Road King Classic in August from the same dealer for $3000 off MSRP. This was from my local small town H-D Dealer in Southeast Ohio. Other dealers won"t budge - it just depends on where you live and the dealer you go to.

Why buy New? It's a buyer's market on used bikes. I picked up a 2010 Ultra with only 7000 miles on it and saved $6000 plus the original owner had added $2,500 in accessories. As soon as you ride a new one off the lot it's used. Remember, everyone rides a used bike.

Yes, shop around. Some dealers don't charge fees. Which can add up.

Also, some will allow extras put on without charge.

Just be careful, what they say. Take it home and think it over.

Hope this helps a little.

P.S. It does not matter where you have it serviced. Service dept. is seperate. They will welcome your business at another dealer.

If you want to save a bunch of cash and help out a fellow rider that is the way to do it. There are a lot of garage queens out there and guys who for one reason or another want or need to sell their rides.
I've seen 09's, 10's w/just a few thousand miles on them.
