I am pondering on buying some hard lowers but have one question. Right now I have the kury pegs with stirrups on the engine guard set up to where I can put my heel on the floorboard and foot on stirrups that's what I find comfortable most of the time, sat on a few ultra's but haven't found one with stirrups on it yet. How much does it change your highway peg setup to add the lowers? Further out, up, or down? Any info greatly appreciated.
I have the Kury Dually ISO pegs with offset mounts on my Ultra, and they work fine. I have them set like you suggest, so I can rest my heel on the floorboard and the ball of my foot on the pegs. Of course you can also stretch out and put your entire foot on the pegs if you want.
I have the tour-tech mounts and a set of Iso pegs. I can put the heel of my size 13 on the floorboard and my toes on the peg if I like. The nice thing is that the tour-tech wraps around the lowers nicely and looks correct. Didn't really answer your question but it is another option.
When I arrived in North Dakota (1100 miles) the first time on my Ultra, I lowered my pegs as far as they would go.
When my Brother arrived in Nashville the first time on his Ultra, we lowered his pegs as low as they would go.
WE both have the HD long wrap around mounts. I also can do the heal toe thing too.
We both found out that you need to keep you leg as low as possible or you will get a knot in your butt cheeks.
Never-ending process isn't it??? The lowers make it a PITA to get a real good position for highway pegs. Especially if you have short legs. I found a good spot for mine but the peg sits real close to the brake pedal. Not good in a panic stop situation.
No problem, these aren't eaxctly what you have.
They are the HD 360 degree mounts, with matching Streamliner Footpegs.
But you get the idea.
I actually need to raise the up about an inch more than in these pictures.
Heals on the Floor boards and toes on the pegs.
thanks for the pics, that setup looks like it would be pretty close to where I am now. I was concerned about it moving my pegs too far out but with that mount it looks about the same distance.
