Do you know if they sell just the adapters? I guess I could make a set of my own. If you get a speaker with adjustable tweets or even seperates this would be a killer setup !
So did you ever run the setup with the ARC speakers? What was the difference between the 5 1/4 vs the 6? I've been debating this updated, but man... I have so much $$ tied up in this little project.. not sure I want to do it!
I have not tried any other speakers. The 6.5 definitely produce more bass. I can feel it now. I think 6.5 component speakers with seperate tweeters would be the best, but thats more money.

When I ordered they said no, only sell both together. I think the company that sells the saddlebag lid speakers sells 6.5" adapters seperately. I think its called loud lids. I also agree on using seperate tweeters.
are they 2 ohm??? if they are 2 ohm there may be a lower set up for sale soon
Hertz has them packaged as 4 ohm. Biketronics said at time of order they are 3 ohm. I measured with my mutimeter and they are in fact 3 ohm speakers. I personally don't think they would work that well without an amp, but I could be wrong.
I only have about 50 miles on the system and no highway use yet. So far I have the following observations. The mid bass hits very hard I can feel it in my chest. The highs could be better. I think by using these adapters you lose the factory speaker angle towards your ears. I think this is hurting the tweeter performance. If you duck your head lower it sounds better. I bought the speakers and adapters for $200 and bought the ARC mini for $250 NIB on Ebay.
Thanks for info. I'm riding with 9 1/2" windshield - what are you riding with?

I am using an 8" Fastaire. I think sound is very subjective what I like you may not. Unfournatley there is no way to test drive all the different speakers available. Except buy all of them.
Also I am using semi loud V&H oval slip on mufflers.
Predrilled to adapt to the factory mounting tabs in the front fairings of the hd touring line. No modifications needed to swap from the stock 5.25" to an aftermarket 6.5" speaker.
Just some advice concerning 6.5 adapters in the fairing. Each speaker has a different basket depth and magnet size so be sure select an adapter that is measured to fit with a certain speaker because there isn't much room in there when the fairing cap goes back on.
I know the Biketronics transducer was designed to fit with the Hertz 6.5" and if you use anything with a deeper basket/magnet you may be S.O.L. getting the cap on. Don't know if they offer it separately to begin with, but calling them will get you that answer.
