My wife slept half the way back from Orlando to New Bern, NC. Every time I'd hit the bakes her helmet would clank into mine...never had a problem with her slipping or upsetting the balance of the bike...just funny as hell.
Same experience!!! I can tell when she is "going" as the headset intercom goes quiet and she ceases pointing out landmarks and points of interest along the way. The only time she has ever started leaning forward is when we were going through the mountains in CO and she started forward and to the right. A quick elbow by yours-truly kept her in place... Yeah, coming off speed resulting in a "clunk" by her helmet into mine is always good for a laugh.
DeepSouth251 stole my story. Same here, the wife sleeps all the time. i know she's out when 1. She stops chattering in the intercom. 2. She lays her head on my shoulder. Works for me .......... my ears can use the break.
Yeah, I can tell when her helmet starts hitting the back of mine. Heck, I've dozed off myself being the driver, fortunately have jolted awake in time. Most likely to happen when following a bunch of slow cages or after the effects of a hot cup of coffee. Stick to cold drinks now with lots of caffiene.
Yeah, my back seater has put lots of marks on the back of my helmet, but we have both gotten used to it. Now, when she feels sleepy, she hooks her thumbs into my belt loops, that's my cue that she might not be as alert as I want her to be........Usually only happens on the boring sections of the trip......like eastern Wyoming, seems like the only thing happening is how many of those small furry creatures can you hit or miss on the freeway(they ain't squirrrels, and they ain't rabbits....don't really know what they are....)....it seems like that is the most colorfully paved road in these United States.....I've never seen so many roads head off into nothing in my life, as I have in Eastern Wyoming.......but, hey, ya gotta go through there to get to great places like Yellowstone and the Beartooth pass......at least for us TEXAS folk....
backseater didn't but I did once. I was driving down the interstate, very long sweeping curve, and I was going straight. The love of my life, sitting, behind me, was kind enough to gently wake me before I went straight off the road. Was a long long time ago...She never really quite got over that.....
the OL crashes anything over an hour. Never had a problem falling off. About the closest we came to wrecking is when she poped open the saddle bag to grab another pack of smokes. We were doing about 80. Very hot, not very smart....you only get one of the two.
My lady dozes off every once a while when she can. She lets me know that she's tired and closes her eyes to recharge herself like an Energizer Bunny for a good few minutes. Sometimes she'd clank on my helmet when she really DOZES into heavy sleep !.
mine would never fall asleep, she is to busy steering me and telling me to slow down. she pinches me when she thinks we should slow down and pulls right or left when we should turn .... lmao. shes getting better back there though!
i do love riding with her!
