Take the radio to double din size - incorporate larger screen that could be used for radio, communications, GPS, and instrumentation - i.e. a picture of a speedometer and tachometer.
Incorporate color variable LED backlighting into all gauges and the radio.
Extend the Batwing down 2" in the hand region to deflect wind.
Curved extension (similar to klock werks) to bottom of fairing to deflect wind and limit buffetting from the bottom.
Heads up display is a great idea and would be easy to project on to the wind screen.
Add a decent spot to mount an Iphone or Ipod in the dash along with an aftermarket GPS. Compass and oil temp gauge.
Anything to keep all that crap off the handlebars!!
Hell why not add a heads up display like in the fighter jets!!
Good Luck!!
By all means, do whatever you can to make it look more like a cage.
Being able to dim the dash lights would be great. Add Aux inputs on both side of the fairing and add one to the back of the radio inside the fairing. A couple of extra dash mounted switches and a real solution for mounting I Pods and GPS.
As I would rather ride than spend extra time cleaning, I would like some thought put into mounting the gauges and idiot lights so it is easier to clean. Trying to get the dust outta the nooks, crannies and recessed instruments is a pain.
I wonder if the original designer ever had to clean one.

+1 on that! That's exactly what I was going to say. This guy probably really works in the design dept. at MOCO, and they're looking at idea's for 2011. They can't think of anything on their own and need our help. Right
Bring the gauge illumination into the current century. Have you seen the gauge illumination on a Lexus?......badazz!
H-D's backlighting is outdated, needles and #'s are far from crisp at night and basically non-visible in 1/2 light.
