Hang in there. I keep practicing and practicing all the tricks of our trade, always defensive, always looking out. Come along way since I ripped up a leg on my dirt bike back in 1972 crossing railroad tracks.

We just can never let up with the defensive driving, can we?

I spent my 16th birthday in the hospital, 14 days, due to a driver pulling out in front of me. That was a long time ago as I'm 62 now. It really stays in the back of your mind and makes you aware of how fast it can happen. I bought my first harley in 08, ultra classic, and now enjoyin the heck out of it. Ride most of the time 2 up with my 60 year old lady friend. They call what I've got a geezer glide and maybe thats what I am but I sure would of lost a lot of good memories if I hadn't of got back on. I am sure you won't either. Ride safe

I got broadsided on my way home tonight (driving my Dodge Durango) it was the typical motorcycle accident. I was turning left, there was a car stopped at a sign waiting to turn left onto the street I was driving on. As I made the turn she simply plowed into me, I'm not sure if I could have avoided it on my bike, really makes you think.

Never been in an motorcycle accident myself as I'm knocking on wood right now. Can't imagine and dealing with fear/flashbacks after enduring the pain. Just take 5 or 10 miles a day to overcome your fear and suggest that you go to an Advanced Motorcycle Course to build up your confidence all over again.

Ride safe,

Thorey

Hockey...Congrats! Glad to see you're back on the horse!

I was nervous too, when I was doing my 'demo ride' up in Sturgis. I was only 3 mos out from my accident and for the first mile or so, I was a bit shakey, but relaxed after that.

Happy to hear things just fell right back into place. Hoping that is the way it is for me, once I have my new scoot in about 6 weeks or so.

Ride Safe!
