I wear a pair of Double H cowboy boots with lug soles all the time. I did have my leather guy cut them down about 3 inches because they were way to tall. I have some nice inserts inside and can wear these and walk all day, no problems.

I got a pair of redwings that I love. Work paid for most of the cost so they were cheap for me.

I just bought a pair of Ariat Carbide H2O motorcycle boots and so far they seem like they are going to be good. They are very comfy on the bike, and what walking I've done hasn't bothered me yet. I saw the Ariats at a motorcycle show and was impressed by the features they have for riding and comfort, after trying a pair on for a while I bought them.

I wear the 10" logger/smoke jumper from Whites Boot Co. out of Spokane Washington, they have a great sole and offer a lot of traction. First purchase is about 430.00 I think, but you can get them completely rebuilt with the exception of the uppers and they are like brand new for about 100 bucks I think.
