Default 2001 Roadking

A friend of mine brought a 2001 Roadking standard to my house, because he is interested in buying it. The owner says it is a screaming eagle, but I thought 2003 was the first year for the Roadking SE. The bike has the SE jugs and is loaded to the hilt. Am I wrong, or is it a screaming eagle?

To the best of my knowledge (which probably isn't worth much) in 2001 they had the FLTRSEI2 Screamin' Eagle Road Glide but not a Road King

I'm petty sure most of the SE parts fit on 01 TC's, but no factory SE

Don't know about '01 but I was at a H-D dealer last summer in upstate NY and am sure I saw a Parts Catalogue there for a 2002 FLHRSE which the parts guy said was for the Screamin' Eagle model.

Is there any way to check the VIN?

I do recall a website where you could put in your VIN number and it will tell ya what you want to know about the bike, any recalls, where it was assembled, etc. It also tells you the exact model. Now if i can just remember what that was.
