Default Fresh paint question ?

Any painters out there? Just finished painting a tour pak to match the bike, and wondering how long I shoukd wait before putting everything back together. Backrest, speaker pods etc. Do I need to be concerned
about trapping solvents from escaping? Its urethane paint. - thanks

6-8 hours air dry. Trapped solvents only become an issue when painting coats on top of one another (i.e. causes wrinkling and blistering).

It really depends on the products you used. Some clears you can handle in as little as an hour and some require longer. You can go to most paint manufactures websites and get the product sheets which will give you exact times for handling and reassembly.

The speed of the reducer that was used can make a difference. Slow reducer for higher ambient temps, faster for lower temps. I would use a fingernail test (press your fingernail into the paint with some force) to a out of the way area and make sure that the paint is fully solid, if it is, go to town.

the reducer and humidty will make the difference, regardless a good 24 hrs you should be good to go. Do wait 30 days before you wax it, soap and water wash will be fine but no wax.
