did the same. In a fit of cabin fever, went in there with cash a flyin'. Bike is on order (mar 20)tick, tick, tick...cant come fast enough. anyway, was driving by the next day with a buddy and stopped in to show him the color and I drive home alone. that MF'n buddy of mine not only bought the same SG but took a color they had in stock so got to ride home before me.
good times, I can't wait.
My business partner and I have said for years we should buy a couple of Harleys. Many of our customers have bikes and are always inviting us on rides. I had a bike but he has never ridden. So during the blizzard here a couple of weeks ago, during a break in plowing, I drove to the dealer and picked out a bike and wrote a check for the downpayment. Then I went back to the office and told my partner, "I'm calling you out bitch" LOL, he's my best bud too. Told him that I bought my bike now it's his turn. Well, now it gets good. He went over and picked out a Road King Classic in Teal and Creme with whitewalls and all. That Saturday he took his wife over to show it to her and she said, "I'm not riding behind you all the time I want my own." So she got a matching Softail! But it gets better, when my buddie's sister came over to the dealer later in the day to see the bikes, she decided to buy a softail too!
Needless to say I ground the dealer for a little better deal after selling three additional bikes for him.
Enjoy! You should have a happy dealer... Selling several new bikes at or around MSRP along with accessories and shop time charges to install them. Hope to god he at least gave you a shirt and jacket or cash for your pocket.
I feel your pain. I bought my new 2009 SG on Jan 17th. I've put on a set of rush slip-ons, sundowner seat, backrest for the wife, Hogtunes speakers, Clockwerks windshield, and got my GPS mounted. Luckily I've got to ride it a couple of times, but froze my butt off.
I feel your pain in a big way. I ordered my SG last year in May. (military deployed) When I went home on leave in July I went by the dealer who just so happened to have a 09 SG in my color sitting on the floor. I just had to snap a couple of pics . So I have been "looking" at my bike since July on my computer. April can't get here soon enough. It will be nice and warm in NC by the time I get there.
