I've been looking at the options and am glad I came upon this thread, as I hadn't seen the Hog Trough doors yet. I have lots of questions about them that aren't answered by their description or photos.

1. Are they waterproof?

2. Do they hinge down (like the HD doors) or to the side (like those from Eglidegoodies)?

3. Are the locks the same type as on the EG fuel door? The HD doors use the same locking mechanism and I would want to replace the standard locks with these, which would allow you to access the door while riding or lock it.

4. Are they hinged? If so, to they swing down like the HD doors or to the side like Eglidegoodies?

It seems to me that the materials used on the Hog Trough doors don't match the black plastic on the fairing lowers. Could someone who owns these comment on this?

The HD doors are hinged from the bottom, not the side like the Eglidegoodies doors. I'm now wondering if the Hog Trough doors are hinged, and if not I would look elsewhere, as I want to be able to access at least the left side while riding.

Does not match perfectly but in my opinion it looks pretty good. They are not something I would open or remove while riding the bike but then again even if they were hinged I would not attempt to unlock them and open while riding.....
Just my take.

The doors from eglidegoodies do everything I wanted.
Hinged from the side. Gasketed. Come with your choice of latch (chrome or black), flat key, barrel key, or match your key for an extra $15.00 if you send it to them. You can mix them if you want one locked and one not.
Most of the others fall out when you open them. Not good if you're on the road or even at a light.
None are an exact match for the lower material but then the snap off crap that came with the bike is worse.
Real happy with my choice.
