i've been watching the posts on the pc-v and noticed hardly any at all have complained about decell popping. is this because of the tuner as opposed to the older pc-3 and other tuners? or are we just getting better at tuning the efi.is there actually less or have i let my imagination run away with me again?
Yeah, like RODEO said. A lot of decel popping is caused when oxygen leaks into the exhaust and causes the unburned fumes in the system to combust (pop).
This morning I had a weird thing happen. First I run a PCIII, K&N air filter and Rush slip on mufflers. This morning I had a great deal of popping on decel. Normally I have none. However the last few mornings I noticed a higher idle on startup more so than normal. Well this morning, I had the popping and then the bike died. I pulled off the road and the bike started right back up with a loud pop. The rest of the ride into work (20 or so miles) and the entire ride home was fine. I am thinking a PCIII problem but just not sure. I have run this configuration on the bike for over a year with no problems. So not real sure is just a fluke or if I have something going on.
When i was racing alot and changing bikes every year the pc3 did have some mapping issues and some just quit working. I would take them back to the shop and call dyno jet direct and they would send me a new one. I did send the old one back to them. Research i guess for them. but this was on older models. If your in good with a shop they should help you out and call them.
I actually noticed the same thing. I hate decel popping. I switched my pipes on my 08 EG to some SEs that I had and got the popping. I took them back off and went back to stock and just forgot it. However, with all the talk of the PCV and no mention of decel popping (for the most part). I think I am ready to try again. I will be going with Fuel Moto if I can just decide on the pipes to use.

Gee and to think I started liking Harleys because of the popping when I let off the gas. Different strokes for different folks.
I am with you,a lttle decel pop is good! Most of these young fellas don't get that with straight pipes or opened up mufflers there is going to be a little noise, that's why they call them mufflers.
