I purchased my RK standard last year and have been loving it ever since. I pulled the windshield off for going back and forth to work( mind you it only took 4 seconds to do so). The RK without the windshield screams Harley. I did have some thoughts about eventually switching to an Ultra but I can't see myself doing that anytime soon. Besides, I think I will just add the detachable tour-pack for when the wife rides. If I ever get into a batwing phase, (shoot me please, just kidding) I found one that looks like it will mount up as a quick detachable unit like the RK windshield. Of course I will not have a radio with any of these detachable upgrades but I just make due with my mp3.
My problem is that I like them all....from the Sportster to the Ultra. I want one of each.
The RKC is one classy looking bike. IMO-Get what turns you on!
I always said baggers were for old guys (I just turned 26 in January), so I never wanted one. Went to the dealer to buy the Mrs and Sporster, and left with a Sportster and a Road King Classic. The RKC just caught my eye and it was love at first sight. Since buyin' it, I've added hard bags (so now I can switch between hard and leather bags to change the look whenever I want), added fairing lowers (great for cold weather), added a color matched Tour Pak (nice for long trips or when the Mrs is ridin' on the back), and added a Dragonfly detachable fairing (Nice when it's cold, plus it has a radio and 6x9 speakers). So I can have my bike completely dressed up like an Electra Glide, have it half dressed up like a Street Glide, or have it stripped down like a Road King. Then I can change the bags to make it look even more different. So many different variations with just one bike. You can't beat the versatility of the Road King!! They don't call it the King for nothin'.....

No good reason I can think of...unless you want a fairing and radio and don't want aftermarket. But hey, I'm biased...you can check out pics of mine (lots of shiny stuff) in my gallery. Now that I'm thinking of it, you can check out all the great pics you want in just about anyone here's Gallery!
