Default Fork Question

Here is a good question, I have a 98 Ultra with the 3/4 axle. Can I install the complete fork assembly off a newer bike, if I was to change out the wheel? I have an oportunity to pickup a set of chrome forks with calipers cheap. So will changing the bearings and axle out work for me or ?

Thanks

Are you fitting late model twin piston calipers on each side of your 1998 bike. You should only need bearings, rotors I would also fit the later master cylinder or have your early master cylinder bored and sleeved to suit.

It will work.......newer fork sliders use a 1" axle so i think you would only need to change the bearings in your wheel....as far as the master cylinder you need to get one off a newer bike to support the two piston calipers....but other than that you are good to go. I did the same thing on my 99, i used everything off a 2000 and it worked good.
