I have see some threads,on the amount of miles hd touring bikes get....I started thinking ,on some that do have some decent miles on them are they stock motor set -ups..or stage 1,2, & 3...I guess the question is how many high milage bikes out there have had work done to them to incrase hp/tq & are reliable..or are the hevy mile bikes all stock...

My buddy's Road King Classic out in Hawaii had 103,000 miles on it when I rode it back at the beginning of January. He has the SE 96 and a six speed tranny (can't remember the make). Bike is still very nice and hard to tell from a much lower milage bike. His bike is why I now ride Harleys instead of sport bikes. Think he did the motor around 45,000 miles.

I've got 84,500 miles on my 01 Ultra. Mods are S&S 510 G gear drive cams, Andrews adjustable push rods, Arlen Ness Big Sucker A/C, V&H 2-1 Pro Pipe, and PCIII. So far the bike has been fairly reliable, but I have put two stators on it. I replace the front motor mount every spring after having problems with the motor shifting in the frame and breaking two mounts within 600 miles.

I've got about 25000 miles on my motor since I did my big bore work, and I wouldn't hesitate to go across country with it tomorrow.
If you build things right, they are just as dependable as stock.
