Very interesting. Times are tough & companies will try anything on the hope it doesn't have to take it back. Interesting to see if other dealers do the same.
I've seen this "gimmick" at some of the automobile dealerships here in the Southeast ,I guess desperate time call for desperate measures to generate sales
Don't know of a pledge like that at any Harley dealers here in FL although Gainesville has waived all their Prep and Destination Fees and offer 3 years in house Free Service...
I think it is like us they purchase insurance that will cover their cost for a certain number of returns. Their bet is that the number of returns does not exceed their insurance. Just a cost of doing business in today's economy.
you "can walk away from UP TO $7500" in debt. hmmmm does that mean you get the money spent back? or does it mean if you owe up to $7500 you walk away free and clear? seems to me, you'd probably be better off selling the bike, if that's all you owed.
but hey... if it brings in MORE sales, and the buyers qualify for loans... it's a good deal (for someone)

Not debt, negative equity, which is good since they sell em for $20K and offer you $12k in trade........
The complimentary Pledge package under WALKAWAY covers the motorcycle owner in the
case of job loss or certain life-altering circumstances and allows them to walk away from up to $7,500 in negative equity while keeping their credit rating and savings intact.
I'm very surprised anyone/anything harley has an offer like this. But then again, we've never seen times like these.
