mine only modulates on high beams, which is how the kisan is designed. again, a great little addition which just could make a difference sometime. also, as has been stated already, when riding in a group, you just put your lights on low beam so stop the modulating for your riding buddies.
I just ordered the Comagination unit, Where's a good place to mount the sensor. I was thinking of running it down, and zip tying to the front brake line, or clutch cable.
The directions that came with mine (if'n I recall correctly) said to point it towards the ground ahead of the bike. I tried taping it to the inside of the fairing, pointing down, but it was too dark there and the dang thing turned off the modulator with the slightest shadow.
I finally drilled a small hole thru the inner fairing near the gas gauge and have it poking out there. Sorta looking up (in contrast to the directions) but seems to be working fine.

I ran mine up the clutch cable and wire tied it. It has worked fine for me.
