i have had the same thing happen to me in the past. That attitude goes a long way. These cops around my home town do a great job, and with all the jerks they have to deal with, they deserve a little respect from guys like me. And the few tickets i have gotten...... well i deserved every one of them. Nice thread.

You just got lucky, and being nice did not hurt. Here in Washington the police are giving out tickets all over, I guess that is one way to balance the state budget.

I tried that and got a 95 in a 65. Then at the very end he had the nerve to say "This isn't a croch rocket". That mad me madder than the ticket.

I did the same thing in a cage once, by the time the trooper got to me I was at the back of the turtle deck waiting for him. He gave me a 75.00 speeding ticket, with the open beer in the front seat I was actualy glad to get it. Needless to say my days of doing that are over with. For the record that was in the late 80's............

when it comes to dealing with the law, you are always better to play it safe and be polite... or at least try to make them laugh.. then usually a warning is what you will receive! although I found that most police officers dont mess with bikers, unless you are being out of line...
