Yes, I like the wet towel first so that you aren't tempted to scrub off the bugs. You can still scratch the shield even with the best towel if you scrub to hard on a stubborn bug or dirt spot. Then use the plexus to remove all the prints and give a slick touch. I found that out the hard way.
I use a product called Kleenmaster Brillianize. Got it from Tripp Plastics here in Reno, they are a Plexiglass place. Its amazing stuff comes in a pump bottle,shake it up, squirt a little on your windshield, it kinda creates a film let it dry wipe it clear, I only use it and my windshield stays clear all the time.
I'm glad I'm not the only one who puts the windshield in the tub. We have the stupid little love bugs that are a bitch to clean off. They suck for the paint too.
