That is excellent! Next time throw in the bouquet of dead roses (prunes on end of sticks).

I had the Sleep apnea surgery in June of 08. To me the surgery on my throats was worse. The packing is not that bad. Here is a pic of me 2 days after surgery. Never mind the pink blanket my neice thought it would be funny.

Had it done about 10 years ago, not a real big deal. Just be ready for the football field length of packing that gets pulled out!!

About 15 yrs ago I had a tear duck that got stopped up they went in and made it bigger and whatever else they do. About a week after the surgery I got a infection in the nose and they had to pull the packing out. I did not know you could get that much up my nose must of filled my brain up with packing too. Lots of bloody yellow stinking snot came out of my nose when he pulled it out. Felt like he was pulling my brain out through my sinuses. Another doctor walked by after he pulled the p---a---c---k---i---n---g out and said when he does it he don't pack the nose anymore. Your a big boy you will come through it fine.

Thanks for all of the responses. Sounds like it's a pretty common thing to have some sort of sinus surgery. I have had a cyst in my right sinus for several years and have just decided to have it taken out. I get chronic migraines and hopefully this is, at least, part of the problem. I don't have sleep apnia and I don't snore. When getting this checked out, Doc discovers a deviated septum and syas, lets fix that too. So, that's where I am now. Doc says that my nose will only be packed for 2 days and didn't mention anything about any tubes after that. I'll be sure to ask.

I know this is off topic but I appreciate all of the comments.

Shrink, good luck and heal fast, Maybe have em permanetely attach some fringe to your nose while they are at it.

I had sinus surgery done in October. The surgery took about 2 hours and my doc told me they use some sort of plastic stents now instead of packing. Makes for a much easier recovery. It's pretty wild when you go back in and have the stents pulled out of your nostrils!

I had the same thing done back in august of 2000. I had no air flow through the nose due to a growth that deviated my septum. I'm not going to lie, It sucked!!! I bled for 3-4 days! The worst part was I had just got married two weeks prior. Needless to say, the honeymoon was over. Just as someone else posted, having all the packing and braces removed was crazy. But, taking that first breath after was incredible! Honeymoon resumed!!! Oh-yea, ask for the "good" drugs.
