Default Sinus Surgery

Not sure if I want to hear the answers but here goes. I'm going in Tuesday to have a cyst removed from my right sinus and to have a deviated septum fixed. Other than having my nose packed for 2 days, should I have any real concerns?

Take it easy on me, I'm not looking forward to it.

Good luck, I had the sleep apnea surgery and it sucks. Bud of mine had deviated septum as part of his sleep apnea surgery and was down and out for a month. Oh wait, you said take it easy on you....you'll be fine!

Try not to sneeze or laugh I had a friend that had the same thing done. Being the nice guy I am, I bought six of those fake nose with glasses attached. I took the noses off and stuck them on some rose stems. When I walked in and gave him Six long stem noses he about blew his packing out I know my wife thinks I'm stupid too.

You need to use a softer straw!! lol just kidding, I had 2 nose surgeries, they both sucked! polyps and deviated septum, leaving me with a tear and scar tissue! maybe I need a softer straw?
Good Luck!

have you had your pre-op chat with the nurse or doctor already? IMHO, that is the best time to air out your concerns/questions. best of luck!

By the way your Scoot looks good! Caution: my wife taked me into putting a skirt on our 01 Glide and after a few months the leater wrap permanently stained the bag guards!

Good Luck! I've had it done 3 or 4 times, the first couple of days suck but after they take the packing out you'll feel like a new person.

I just had a septoplasty done about one month ago, not the worst thing in life to have but not the best either.

Rubber tubes up both nostrils for a week sucked, man was I happy when he pulled those suckers out and the yuck that came with them! I only had a problem with one nostril but so far I've never breathed free'er.

Nothing to worry about, it's more like a minor inconvience and you'll be happier once it's over.

Good luck and have no worries.

Back in November, I went in for a triple-whammy...
Septoplasty, Tonsillectomy & "Uvular-palato-pharengyoplasty" (UPPP).

Now, my breathing, while not 100% of normal, is 800% better than it was. The doc put in a couple of splints in my schnozz for a week or so, just to keep things in line while healing.

The results of the UPPP were that, while I no longer suffer from sleep apnea, I do still snore. It's kinda weird not having a uvula back there, but it's worth it.

As for pain meds, ask for ROXICET. It tastes sorta nasty, but, since it's a liquid, you can take as much or as little as you need, and it goes to work NOW. Defiantly the best stuff I've ever had to use.

Good luck & get well soon!
