umm, that didn't really answer my question. my chopped tour pak is abs, not fibreglass.

the closest thing we have gotten to an answer, is "I think the chopped tour-pack has a slightly different angle on the sides...which could make the hinges not function properly" but so far, nothing definite.

To me, this seems to answer it. But, it doesn't seem to address the "chopped" directly. Do you already have a chopped TP that you can compare to someone's King TP? There's also the option of the Kuryakyn hinge covers........
for about $40. Not as nice looking as the HD IMO

it would answer it if the chopped tourpak were made of fiberglass, but its abs just like the king so whether or not fiberglass would hold up is irrelevant. and dawgs comment about 'otherwise they fit' was directed at someone with a fiberglass king pack...

doing a side by side comparison with someone who has a king pack doesn't really help cause it could be just a hair off, and not be noticeable until you've drilled everything out and tried to do the install... then its too late.

2 things against the kuryakyn covers. one, they're kuryakyn (i purchased one item from them, was just as expensive as the hd, not as well made, didn't look as good, and broke the first time it was used. the hd version was out of stock)

and 2nd, they're FUGLY..... my opinion of course.

Here's a handy tip: If you have one of the new lighted Aero racks, disconnect the wire before you take out the hinge pins and are standing there with the lid in your hands wondering how you are going to hold the lid and remove the liner at the same time.

Don't ask me how I figured this out.

If you look at the two different styles of tour-pack...

It looks to me like the chrome hinge kit would work properly on the lid of either. But, it seems like the sides of the chopped-pack are (pretty close to) vertical...While the King-Pack is smaller at the bottom, and has sides that angle outwards.

My guess is this is the reason the kit is not a direct swap on teh Chooped version.

Without having both here to compare it seems difficult to determine...but if someone were to paost a few detailed pics (side view, rear fview, & close-up of the hinges in open & closed positions) of their 'Chopped' Pack...We could prolly make a determinataion.
