I have been quoted a price of $3100.00 for a 95 Upgrade from my 88. It will be done with 1550 Stage one Kit- S&S Cam Kit with Gears, SE Pro Super Tuner, and 4 hrs Dyno time. Also installing new pushrods. Qutoed 4 hrs for installation of Big Bore Kit and 4 hrs for installation of cams and pushrods. Do you guys think that is a good, fair price?
not a good price check with another dealer or buy the parts you need and have your jugs bored to 95s(i would go to a 98") and have another shop install the parts 4 less
look at hqs (HEAD QUATERS) website for a package deal heads cams jugs and you will be ahead going this way
It took me around 8 hours for everything for my big bore kit that I took my time on. It was my first time. I would suggest looking for a diffrent shop. $3100 seems high. Tuning is not that hard. You can even go with HQ auto tuner even if you didn't buy their big bore kit. I think you could do a lot better than what they are offering you.
+1 do a 98 -- price quoted is a little on the high side

if you're getting the 95" kit AND the cams and pushrods AND the gear drive AND the tuner AND 4 hours Dyno time AND 8 hours labor... sounds like a decent price to me.
to save money and possible headaches, reuse your cylinders and have them bored... a seasoned head is much better than a virgin casting. then you only have to pay for the pins, pistons, and rings. also reuse your pushrods if possible but don't use those adjustable ones...
since you just saved $500, instead of wasting money on the "race tuner" look into the ThunderMaxx system. you'll get better performance plus you won't need those dyno hours so you just saved more money.
of course this is my opinion based on my experience :-)
