well guys my fuelmoto a/c, baffles, and PC V will be here on Thursday. I tried to search but had a hard time getting anything to come up. I remember reading somethings guys posted on here, but I'd like to consolidate it into one post so things go smoothly on Thursday. What are your tips and or tricks for installing the above items. Are there any special tools or materials (certain loc-tite, etc) that I am going to need? I will be pulling the baffles out of my Rush slip ons and replacing them with the FM guts....
Don't know much about replacing bafflles, I just bought the slipons from Fuelmoto which are what you going to have when you install the baffles.I wouldn't worry their customer service is awsome.Good luck!!!
Let us know if you need any more confusion....
You'll be pleased and the job couldn't be easier. A few common hand tools and you're done before you know it. Let us know if you have any questions.
I just did the Fuel Moto A/C and PCV install on my Roadglide last monday. The PCV came with a good set of instructions and was a piece of cake. The A/C instructions wasn't as good. Fortunitly I had the factory manual. There is a bracket that sits behind the old Backing Plate that has to be removed so the new Backing Plate will fit properly. It is secured to the engine by 2 allen head screws. I found the easiest was to get the screws out was to lift the rear of the gas tank. I used blue loctite on the threads. I had it all done in a couple of hours. Part of that time was making beer runs upstairs to the fridge.
Good luck. It's supposed to warm up tomorrow so I hope to ride to work to check out my new setup.
I am learning how to do things on the bike everyday. I have an 07 FLHT, and did the Package install about a week ago. It was simple as it gets. I used blue locktite on the threads and relaxed and did it all. It wasnt a race, but it did go fast. I actually enjoyed it. I love the bikes sound, performance, and feel.
I did the Rush baffle swap about 15 months ago and wrote it up here. The PCV location is different from my '07 so I won't offer any guidance on its installation. The AC was very easy on my bike and I can't think of any caveats except those already given.
