I've been very pleased with my Kuryakyn Ultra Tour Pack. I've used it strapped to the P-Pad on my Road King as well as the Motherwell's Solo Rack on my Heritage Springer.
Hows the quality of the Kury bags? I am considering one myself. Either the "Full Dresser bag" shown here, or the "Ultra Tour" bag. Are they waterproof? How durable are the zippers and hold down straps etc?
+1 to these. The wheels on the bottom have saved me a hernia operation or two when the wife packs it. Pretty water proof but I still pack my precious stuff in plastic bags (old skool). Very durable and hasn't showed any wear yet. Easy to strap things to the outside with bungees. I got a brand new one delivered to my house for $ 142.50 from E-bay.
Do a search for "dry bag". I've used these with great success when over packing for a trip. Not too expensive from any camping outlet and come in every size and color you could want. Great part is they adjust to fit the load and are watertight.
I have the T-bag "Horseshoe" bag. I didn't want something really large that the wife could stuff too much weight into. It is a good size though. Just be mindfull of the weight, I know it says not to exceed 10 lbs on the rack, you don't want any stress on the tour pak lid where the rack studs mount. We are going to use it mainly for quick to grab items - Rainsuits, gloves, sweaters, sunscreen, that kind of stuff.
