That's why I went Trophy Shop!! The engraving is actually black, thats just the light from the flash, the finish is brushed nickel. Looks better in person.
My plain chrome insert for my 2008 SG was $130.00 shipped. Only 1 piece though.

Use a small knife or screwdriver to pry it off. There is no way to salvage it as it is glued down. Once you pull it off just clean off the glue and put the new one on.

I believe with some patience (and perhaps WD-40 and a heat gun) the original can be gently pulled off and maintained so as to be re-usable if desired. That's my plan at least.

+1 heat gun and thin scrapper, or feeler gauge, with patience it will come off nicely. I still have my original black vinyl ones in good condition.

I guess I don't have the patience. I used a heat gun and I was trying to keep it somewhat flat so that I could put it on my tool box or garage fridge with my stickers, but no dice. It came off without bending but it kept the roll shape from pulling it off, maybe if I had used a scraper of some sort... I had never planned on reusing mine since they are pretty cheap new, I just wanted it on my fridge.
