I'm an unlucky member of the stolen bags club so when I got my new bags I decided to make them tougher to steal. Like anything else if someone wants something bad enough they'll take it. I just want to make it harder, thieves look for the easy they get nervous hanging around to long. I took two pieces of metal drilled and bent one end and secured everything with small padlocks. A do it yourself solution.

Do the bag locks not work? Are they easy to get past?

apparently the barrel locks are easy to defeat I found that out the hard way. another close up picture attached

thanks for the tip, simple easy fast solution. Been thinking of the bolt ordeal, but have shyed away cause look like it would be a pain to take off when I want to clean it.

That little padlock won't stop anyone. Tap it on the side with a hammer and its open, or a pair of cutters. Good idea but use a better lock I'd say. Maybe this one - harder to cut anyway.
