Thanks guys for the info and advice.. believe me I dont mind paying, its just that the price is soo much different that the original quote. I know that I"m at the mercy of the people with the skills to do such work, and that is ok with me, but then just tell me you are going to charge the hell out of me, dont insert with no lube! Thats all... It looks awesome if that makes a difference, I just dont know how one day your telling me no problem we will install those parts for 0 they are easy and fast to install and then the next week it is well your bill is just over 1000.... I was HOT! But I let it go until I can talk to him and see what the real deal is. I went to talk to him today and he was not it, but will be tomorrow, so I will go back and talk to him. All I really would of asked for was a phone call saying hey dude, I cannot do those parts for 0 I will have to charge you labor on those and you are looking at about 1000 total... that would of made things ok with me.. but no call makes for a problem...
Thanks again! I will keep you informed on the outcome!
Its nice you care about your relationship with these people, but trust me, the only thing dealers care about is how fat your wallet and how they can make it thinner. Shop around for a good independent - you won't regret it.

I hear ya and I Agree, the problem is my bike is there and the work has been done... I have to go talk to the guy tomorrow and see what he has to say! I know all they care about is money, but they are not going to keep making it if they continue to change enstimates on people! Thats all that keep running through my head! But hopefully it will work out...

That's not always true! I have a great relationship with the service writers and mechanic at the dealership I use. They are always trying to save me money by suggesting that I wait to do certain things to save labor costs.
O I know I could of done some of it myself, the reason I didn't is because he told me he would take care of it for 0! So why not have them do it? That was my thought, but it doesnt appear to be that way now!!!!
here in la, if the cost exceeds the estimate by 10%, they have to contact you for your approval before they go any further.
if they start giving you a ration of **** about how much the labor costs, blah, blah, blah.... stop them, tell them you understand, but they did not hold up their end by contacting you before they did the 'extra' work. look closely on your written estimate, there should be something there about how they handle it if it exceeds their estimated cost.
if you are feeling really generous, and would like to continue your relationship with this dealer, then offer to split the difference. if they won't go for it, ask him how he feels about losing all of your future business (which could include more bike purchases) over 200 bucks....
If it is City Limits HD, call them on the upcharge. I had the 20k done and they tried to add $110 to the origional quote. When I called them on it they came back to the orig amount. A friend had his 1k done there and they tried to jack it $60. He call them on it and they ended up comming down $80. I will never bring my bike to them again. Screw me once shame on you, screw me twice shame on me - not going to happen!
